چکیده

Cotton leaf curl virus disease (CLCuV) is a devastating biotic factor that imposed crop productivity huge loss. To battle this issue study was assessed in 2019 for the evaluation of response extract miracle tree (Moringa oleifera L.) and potassium (K) nutrition to mitigate plague CLCuV cotton variety CRIS-129. Treatments have consisted various K dosses Viz., 0, 100, 150 kg K2SO4 ha-1, 3% moringa sprayed at 30, 60, 90 days after emergence. Results regarding yield components i-e boll weight (g) seed index were increased by increasing application foliar spray but statistically non-significant (p<0.05). However, contents leaves significantly with all treatments. The maximum (2620 ha-1) achieved K2O ha-1 it about 52% over control treatment. In case incidence % disease, both as well played significant role intensity reduced rate doses sprays.

Genetics of resistance to cotton leaf curl disease in Gossypium hirsutum L. under field conditions.

One hundred and forty two cotton germplasm lines were screened for cotton leaf curl virus symptoms in field evaluations during 2003, 2004, and 2005. Fifty cross combinations involving 30 of these lines classified resistant or susceptible were used for inheritance study of the disease. All the F(1) plants of crosses involving resistant x resistant, resistant x susceptible, and susceptible x resi...

Introgression of cotton leaf curl virus-resistant genes from Asiatic cotton (Gossypium arboreum) into upland cotton (G. hirsutum).

Cotton is under the constant threat of leaf curl virus, which is a major constraint for successful production of cotton in the Pakistan. A total of 3338 cotton genotypes belonging to different research stations were screened, but none were found to be resistant against the Burewala strain of cotton leaf curl virus (CLCuV). We explored the possibility of transferring virus-resistant genes f...

In silico prediction of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) encoded microRNAs targets in the genome of Cotton leaf curl Allahabad virus

Cotton leaf curl Allahabad virus (CLCuAV) belongs to genus Begomovirus, family Geminiviridae. It has single stranded monopartite DNA genome transmitted by whitefly (Bemisia tabaci). MicroRNAs (miRNAs) belong to class of endogeneous small RNAs which suppress expression of genes following cleavage or translational inhibition of target messenger RNAs. They are demonstrated to be involved in a numb...

1396 Cotton leaf curl disease

Cotton leaf curl disease is the major biotic constraint to cotton production in Pakistan and India. The disease causes unusual symptoms that include vein swelling, enations and the formation of leaf-like outgrowths. Cotton production during the 1990s was severely curtailed by CLCuD across the sub-continent. This stimulated interest in determining the aetiology and generating resistant varieties....

Functional Analysis of Cotton Leaf Curl Kokhran Virus/Cotton Leaf Curl Multan Betasatellite RNA Silencing Suppressors

In South Asia, Cotton leaf curl disease (CLCuD) is caused by a complex of phylogenetically-related begomovirus species and a specific betasatellite, Cotton leaf curl Multan betasatellite (CLCuMuB). The post-transcriptional gene silencing (PTGS) suppression activities of the transcriptional activator protein (TrAP), C4, V2 and βC1 proteins encoded by Cotton leaf curl Kokhran virus (CLCuKoV)/CLCu...
